Lets see...you had the wrong plane, the wrong decade, and missed the speed by over 2000mph...so if my opinion "don't mean nothin", what should that mean for your opinion here?

If they can shoot down a 400mph plane 47 years ago...that naturally means they can shoot down a meteorite going thousands of miles an hour today...I'm sorry, you lost me there.

If they actually had shot down a SR71 at Mach 4, you might have a point...but with the U2 going a fraction of the speed of the meteorite, I fail to see any correlation.

Looks like to me it just exploded coming down that fast...

But I remember they shot down that satellite falling out of orbit and hit it right in the gas tank to make it break up into smaller pieces. I do think there is the technology to do it.

Whatever...point being, it was HIGH and FAST in the 60's.
Satellites can be shot down that travel 18,000 mph in SPACE...and they aint near as big as a jet.
