So im trying to order a sunshade, and some flip up covers, and my outside measures approximately 48mm. Is this a 50? Or proprietary.

Question about scope OD measurement

Its a bushnell sportview 3-9x40 i got for a rimfire.
It just kind of has a rim running around the inside, no threads. I may be screwed...
But yea, thats where i was confused. Do they go by objective, or outside diameter?
The sunshades I’ve seen for scope like that were either a rubbery sleeve, or a plastic with a clamping ring setup.
Are you having issues with sunlight coming into the objective lens?
One of the places i shoot it faces into the sun pretty bad in the afternoon. Its only the last part of the day, and it gets better in the spring/summer.
Honestly i havent tried it with this scope yet, but it goes out further, so i assumed it would be worse as it increases. Dont really know though.
