Racist Turkey ???

All right guys tell me what the h*** I've done, put my ham and turkey in the smoker this AM just like I have the last 40 years, same hickory wood, same amount of wood. Only this time when I opened up the smoker no beautiful brown ham and turkey instead they were as black as coal....My wife is still screaming how I've ruined the day, I may never get out of the dog house over this...

What could have happened ??????

Tyler Perry did it,
check to see if the soot that clings to the lid may have loosened and coated it , I have had that happen, and it all wipes off.

Temp was wrong or the wood was off. That usually happens when coal isn't lit all the way. It won't be pretty but the inside will be fine.

Did you slice the meat to see how it was ???

Was it charred all the way through ???
