My father in law went in for a “routine” heart surgery(as routine as heart surgery can be) at the beginning of February and he never came home. He ended up getting infection after infection and fought like hell for over two months. He gave up yesterday and went home to be with his lord and savior.
He was a jarhead who served in the Vietnam War and a patriot to the end praying for service members every chance he got. I will tell you right now, they do not make men like him anymore. Even in his last minutes he fought and fought, needing more morphine to slip away. Pray for my wife and my son, he’s 7 years old and they were best friends. My boy is resilient and smart as a whip but I can tell losing his papa has broken his heart.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers fellas. Thank you!
Below are a few pictures of his younger self in Vietnam and the hat he wore everyday and my sweet little boy.
