Raising asking price....

I say go with replacement value. Glocks aren’t really $750, but if you’re looking to buy one in ODT that’s what they’re listed for. You can’t sell it for what you paid and get a comparable weapon right now, so go with replacement value.

I bought one for less than that....a good deal, IMO..

THOSE unnamed people will be the ones who will try to coax you into doing/selling something illegal...it's their bag, their game, their raison d'etre..... And when you get arrested and charged, they'll claim their informant was coaxed into an illegal deal...
AND....You'll be THAT guy. You know, the one with an "arsenal" of weapons and ammo found at his residence...

Right now someone is selling something for 70% more than I am asking... same exact ammo and in within driving distance. Post in that other ad with "PM sent".

Can I whine about that? Geez, this market is nuts. LOL

I’m still getting blue label Glocks down here near Fort Benning. Brand new at my local gun store is cheaper than used on ODT.

My go-to for used Glocks is in the Gen 3 variety. I don't give a crap about Gen 5 and the different grips, cuts for RMRs, MOS optics or any of that nonsense meant to drive the price up. I've seen way too many of them here offered for sale at ridiculous prices, tricked out with nonsense that has nothing to do with bullet on target, IMO. If I have to use one, it will be at a range where I don't need that crap..

To me market price would be what the same exact make an model could be bought for at any retail establishment at the time. Private party or auction go for as much as some sucker is willing to pay.

With all these prices going up, people are asking more for their guns, ammo, mags, gas, homes, etc. So, If I bought a desirable pistol way back when, and fair market value has doubled or tripled lately, is it "for profit" to sell it at current market value? I mean, If I had to replace it, current price would have to be payed, right? Its that way with gas, your house, and pretty much everything we consume or like, so why is it frowned upon in the firearm world?

Define "fair market".

Are you using ODT and ArmsList? Or actual retail prices on new guns?

If you bought an SKS in 2003 for $99... And you decide to sell it today, personally I would look at dealers that carry them and see what an average price is and price accordingly.

Just assuming that the $1200 ODT listing is typical of "market value", is idiotic...

I have a home defense shotgun I'm ready to sell but am having a hell of a time deciding on a price. Comparable guns literally range from $400 to $900 just on ODT. Some gunbroker prices are over $1000. The market is nuts. I'll be selling to to fund a purchase so if I have to buy in the market, I'll certainly have to sell at market prices, though I'll have to take a wild guess at that.

Still people like me (us) are not "resellers". I've lost more money than I'll ever make on this site, LOL.
What kind of shotgun? I was in Sandy Spring Range yesterday, and they had a wall full of shotguns for what seemed to be reasonable prices....some were $349-ish and up. I was expected them to be much higher.
