I'm looking at getting a home with a bit of land on it.
I recently looked at a place where the lot was aprox. the same size, different shape of course and the majority of trees had been cleared out. I couldn't get it because the house was more than 100 years old and they didn't want to tangle with the VA. Fair. Too bad. I really liked it and I know my dogs would have loved it.

I found this place. This property is about is an acre and some change. I haven't visited it yet. I'm discussing it with my um, CEO.
I like it because it has a chain link fence completely around the home. My dogs will like that.
According to Realtor.com, the white line is the boundary of the property.
This property hasn't really been cleared out of course.
I would imagine there are a bunch of rattlers and/or copperheads lurking somewhere in the woods.
Is it possible to get a male and female black snake and drop them off in the middle of the wooded area? For venomous snake control.

Also, if you bought a place like this, what would you do with that wooded area? I've thought about maybe clearing a trail from one end to the other so I can walk through it.
Maybe build a bat house for bug control. Fireflies are endangered, maybe I could make some conditions that make fireflies mate there in safety.
I want to set up some kind of radio tower with some antennae attached to it. Maybe build a workshop near the antenna, (in the cleared out area).
This place is in Jackson county if that helps.

What would you do if you bought this?

Use? You'll have to decide for yourself. The only neg I see is you have a sharp corner. So not a whole lot you can do with that. I do like having trees. So I wouldn't take them all out if any. Just make sure not to have any that can fall and damage a building. An acre isn't really all that much, but I like the way it lays. Makes it feel like more. I hope the property goes all the way to the road. As far as a road all the way through, I think it's a good idea

Can't tell from pics...Is that a 30 yr old Horton Home on there? How much longer will those things last?

Black snakes do not eat poisonous snakes, king snakes do but, venomous snakes do not fear king snakes and do not avoid them. Almost all snakes relocated over a mile will die. There are places that train dogs to avoid snakes.

Guys, guys. Am I having a stroke? What is this thread about? OP asked about opinions on a potential property. Still trying to figure it out what that has to do with a shower. Someone comes in and asks if the house is built by DR Horton. Another guy then offers completely unsolicited advice on snake management. Next up someone seems to know how much the property is worth. One post later it's now a mobile home. Then I see, for the first time, that the price is indeed in black text on the image, so where did the other dude get his number from and why is it so wrong?

Does that about sum it up? :help:
