You can generally receive the greater of your benefits or your spouse's if deceased, but you cannot receive both. This assumes you were married for at least 10 years.I read on the SS website that i am eligible for my late wife's SS at the age of 60. I have to make an appointment for in person appointment with the SS Admin for next March. Does anybody have any input on spouse death benefits ? Thanks, RS
54, WOW!!.....😍 My goal was 50. Started planning at age 26. Didn't happen, but it was a planRetired at 54. Took social security at 62
You can even draw off your spouse, but I don't know all the logisticsI read on the SS website that i am eligible for my late wife's SS at the age of 60. Glad you feel that way. More power to youOnly 82, but it's just a number.
Happens. We're too busy trying to grow up. As far as growing old, not for the meek......Right on!!! Congratulations on having the courage to hang out on this GOD forsaken rock as long as you have. I bet you have some stories to tell.
My Dad is 81 now and I spend as much time with him as I can. I wish I had the sense when I was young to spend MORE time with my Grandfathers and Grandmothers. Young and dumb and was too busy chasing tail.
Sorry to hear that. I'm sure there are so many that way. I guess he's buried over there. My dad was regular Army, shipped out to Europe in WW2 while mom was pregnant. Died in France, never saw me, or I him.
My now-deceased mother-in-law always said "gettin' old ain't for sissies".Happens. We're too busy trying to grow up. As far as growing old, not for the meek......
Glad you had one good experience. Mine says I'm the best son in law she could have. Even tells other people that. Makes me feel all fuzzy......LOL. I think she may even like me better than her own son. That part is sad. He wasn't raised that wayMy now-deceased mother-in-law always said "gettin' old ain't for sissies".
She was my last mother-in-law, and by far the best.
1st one was a bitch, second one was a witch, third time was the charm.
