I second this. You can handle the Krate knives in person at Georgia Gun Store, in Gainesville, and they are <$100.

Kate is another company who gets parts supplied from overseas and then assembles them here in the US. Much like cobratec and other gun show companies, your paying a high price for a bunch of unknowns. You don't know the build quality, or even if the steel is actually D2, as been suspect for a while in the knife community.
If I was looking for another OTF, I would look for a Guardian Tactical Recon, Heretic Manticore E, or even a Benchmade 4600 phaeton. All are not as well known as Microtechs or the BM infidel. And in my opinion, they are better values in my opinion. You know the steels your getting, you know will find the warranty program of any of these companies is a breeze to use, with benchmade being the only one you would need a dealer representative to handle, unless your a first resonder/military.

I own several Micro Techs and can’t really stand any of them. They sit in my nightstand drawer. I’d never buy another, to many other options a lot less $$
