Recreational Pot; has your view changed?

Do you think marijuana should be decriminalized and taxed as a commodity?

What goes on behind closed doors aint nobodies business but yours and God.
Federal Govt can go **** itself in the ass with a soldering iron!

It's a conspiracy, like lots of things. Marijuana has been hyped with its medicinal properties and this now generations' terms of "recreational" use, and therein lies truth, the FDA along with the pharmaceutical industry has been seeking to ban home-remedies since before the Middle Ages, but there's more to it. The criminalization of hemp was bought and paid for by Communists working hand in hand with Big Cotton. The first strike against America was a blow to it's Agricultural Industry, and yes, Hemp made up a large portion of it. Paper, Fabric, Rope, Building Materials are amongst the uses and reasons that it should be decriminalized, but when all the discussion revolves around "recreational" use, my stomach turns, because that's precisely what the anti-American tyrants want, a bunch of intoxicated brain-dead sheep easily led to slaughter.
Just my 2¢.

I'm about the same age as you but when I was a teen, the "freaks" or "heads" as we called them were actually not troublemakers or law breakers. They just wanted to get high and go to concerts. As an adult, if I had to choose, I'd hang out with potheads over drunks. I've never seen anyone get high and want to fight everybody....
Of course I was speaking in generalities (about propensity to commit other crimes and of course there are plenty of exceptions). However, every person I personally know from school that went on to have a serious drug addiction issue (and in some cases wound up dead because of it) started off with pot. Several were absolutely friends. So much so, that as a matter of fact, many thought I was a 'head' because of many of my friends (I've never in my life taken an illegal substance).
That however does not affect my opinion about what is, and isn't in the purview of the Federal government.

I cannot believe how many of you are ok with the Federal Government prohibiting something they have no constitutional authority to do simply because it is not something you want to do.

I have no desire to partake in any narcotics, legal or otherwise. I however do not approve of the government exercising authority not granted to it by the Constitution.

The question was.."Has my view changed"?..Nope

I don't believe it should be legalized.

Would you also be in for another Alcohol Prohibition? Since the first one seemed so successful.
Alcohol has been proven to be detrimental to our society, (mentally and physically) but nobody seems to care.
Well, except MADD, but they just want people put to death for DUIs.
