My wife got me a Lee re-loading set for my B-day. I am only interested in re-loading 45 acp. It's all I shoot. I need some advice from my forum brothers/sisters or recommendations for powder, brass and bullets. I want to re-load both range and carry ammo.

Thanks for the help!!

Steve

Search the reloading forum, there's at least 1 recent thread devoted the the 45 ACP. If I had to pick just one powder it would likely be HP38 or W231. The manufactures are now admitting that they're the same powders, so load data is easily found. I like the Hornady XTP for defensive rounds. They're accurate, load easily, and compared to many pretty reasonably priced. I used mostly Winchester large pistol primers, in mine, as they work great in every application calling for a LP primer. As for brass, I keep them segregated by headstamp, and times loaded, but most brands work well. Good luck, and welcome to handloading, Chuckdog.
