I’ve got an Illion NY manufactured Remington 870 in .410 with a 25” full choked barrel. Has a metal trigger housing and hard plastic butt stock. It’s in great mechanical shape but has a few marks in the wood stocks from use over the years. I’m curious as to what the general consensus is on these little guns. I see prices from $350 up to $1500 when searching online forums. I have several 870’s in 12 ga and 20 ga in different configurations but no .410. Is this one to refinish and hang on to or just throw it up for sale or trade? What’s it worth as is with no box or docs and some carry marks on the stocks? I don’t shoot .410 so no real attraction to the cartridge.

And it’s a fixed barrel. I’d probably post for 350 and hope for 300$ it’s not one worth refinishing. You would want a wingmaster for that or a field grade at minimum.

I don’t believe they make this model anymore. You have a link to one that’s actually in stock? Gunbroker is usually on the high side of pricing but doesn’t have a new one listed and none for anywhere near $300.00 used.

You’re right they make the same model with changeable chokes, so it’s better. That’s a 870 express in .410.

Well then post it for 900$. Sounds like you’ve already determined your answer to your own question, they make 870 express all day every day. Nice gun but nothing special

Good shotgun. 410s usually bring a premium. But this is a tough market right now. The Express models aren't worth what a Wingmaster would bring. It'd have to be one of the upgraded wood and engraved models with the gold inlays. Also I'm a big fan of screw in chokes. The Express models are just a budget gun. Not bad, just not a Wingmaster. I do like a good 410 repeater though
