Happy New Year ODT

A buddy asked me about a Ruger FSAR model 5610 (20" barrel) for hunting.

I have zero experience with this rifle and limited with AR in 308 (I have one.)

Any comments on this rifle or recomendations for a better one imilarly priced?
Just for deer hunting.

Thanks

If he’s looking for the lightest yet most cost effective 308 AR, then SFAR is a perfect choice.
If weight is a major deciding factor, he’s kinda defeating the purpose of getting the 20” version. If he’s only hunting 200/300 yards and in, he should strongly consider going with the 16” version.
They are a great option. Some have gassing issues, but Ruger has fantastic customer service.

At only roughly 100fps difference between the 16 and 20", there's no reason to not go 16". You can get well beyond 300 yards with the 16".

Use mine for target shooting only but the 16 inch version is very nice.

Got mine for $954 including shipping and FFL from Gunbroker.
