Russian sks build

No this thread was started to get ideas on ways to trick out a sks. Thanks to the few that actually helped, and to the others who keep repeating the same thing over and over( now I know how some of you have so many post) this gun is not mine it's going to be changed no matter what if the owner wants it painted pink then he can I don't care. Replacing a stock doesn't destroy a gun you can put it back to normal belive it or not.

You wouldn't help someone that asked for help? He's going to do whatever he wants to HIS gun it doesn't matter what I do I'm just trying to help. I never asked for anyone's opinion on if he should do it or not so please keep your opinions to your self.

No I would not help someone do something that goes against my principle. The thing is, even if you "dress up" the gun once the parts are separated the mag or original receiver cover will get lost eventually and it will never ever be a "matching" example again. I've seen it a hundred times over.

I am sorry that you don't want opinions but when you post something like this in a public forum, it's fair game. You are right it's his gun and he can run it through a wood chipper if that makes him happy.

I can't trade it, it's not mine.
But I'm keeping all the parts I take off so it can still be original. I do like the bullpup but he doesn't

One quick favor, if you will: snap a pic of the left side of the gas tube/upper hand guard and post it. Or, if not, does the serial number run along the length of the stock ("horizontal") on the left or across it ("vertical") near the butt plate?

Edit: ill keep my opinion to myself, as requested.

If it is something that MUST be done I suggest gettimg the cheapest Tapco stock and mags you can find, hopefully used. Drop it in and then work on the Father in law to convince him why he should hate it like that.
I've helped several of my buddies find dress up gear for their yugo's and norinco's and they all opted for the Tapco T-6 stock. As for scope mounts, the receiver cover replacement type seem to be all the same to me. None of them hold zero anyway, if you can even get them to zero.

Man I am in love that rifle! I've stopped typing this several times just to scroll back up and look at the pic!
