Yep I just had this new buck show up in the area. Check out the left side of his rack. That has to be one of the oddest I have seen, and I have 4 pics of him so there are no camera tricks.

Busted a 5 pointer similar to that several years ago. Best I could figure, he got hit by a car or something. His antler on that side was turned way down and his skullcap was really deformed. Had a big "skullbubble" just above his left eye.

Meriwether update. I saw 2 does (Mom and yearling) today walking together without anything following yet. We are not seeing much activity on our property yet in rubs or scrapes. However, there were a lot of 8's in the cooler and I saw 4 bucks come in right after dark tonight. A couple had swollen necks and dark hocks, and the others were not really swollen yet and hocks were light. It looks like it is getting ready to bust loose down there.

I just took one and the the glands on my back legs were musty bad. They are chaseing in Harris county....:thumbup:

I saw a 2.5 year old 8 point last Sunday and he wasn't chasing or acting odd. This should be the week when they fire up. Had a buddy that shot a 10 point in Gwinnett county on Monday. He said he watched bucks chasing does for almost 4 hours before the 10 showed up.

Dont know who else is in Upson county. I have one fairly nice buck on cam and his neck is starting to swell. I can see his tarsals in the pics and they are white as can be. Every deer I have on cam up to a day ago has white tarsals. Hoping it kicks in soon. I want to get this buck and every pic has him between 2 and 5 in the morning.

lived in Upson for 10 years off of Jugtown rd Used to lease 1300ac right off jugtown too.. It sure was nice to live 4 miles from where I hunted..
I also owned 65ac on the corner of log town and 19s, miss upson and pike lots of good deer, the week before thanksgiving was always good..

Shot a buck Sunday evening in Northern Taylor County and his neck was swollen, his tarsels were brown, and he smelled bad!

Its on here in walton co. I can always tell by the number of bucks that get hit on the road by cars.

They are starting to chase in Meriwether. Saw a nice wide 8 point (swollen neck) chasing a large doe this morning. Couldn't get a shot on him as he was back in the thick stuff and not wanting to stand still.
