I bought a S&W Sheild in .45acp couple months ago cause it had a good price, this is a brand new pistol. Was going to take it to the range yesterday to break it in a little, so I started to load a mag . I have never had any pistol mag with a spring as hard to depress as this one. It was incredibly hard to push a round into. It is a 7 round mag and i gave up because it was so hard to push down the first round . Anybody have a similar experience with this pistol? I guess I should contact S&W to see what they think about this.

Didn't it come with 2 mags? Did you try the other?
It will break in and become easier.
i agree.. was a pita.. bought an uplula - after a few range runs both mags got easier.. not 1911 easy, but much better..
