Sales Rep Vehicle Advice

The best selling vehicle to millionaires is the Ford 150, that says something..
That being said if you go with a truck I'd probably look at Chevy.

I thought once the software gets fixed it crushes the MPG?

That is still an uncertainty. I suggest getting an aftermarket tune which will net more power AND mpg and forget about an updates that come from VW directly. Diesels are exempt from emissions testing in GA (good thing because mine would fail miserably :spy:). Many people completely delete the DPF and EGR on these which can be done for a very reasonable cost.

As an outside salesman in the metro Atlanta area in a similar market(hydraulic hose & couplings), my choice is a Tacoma 4x4. I've driven a Trailblazer and an F150 as well as the Tacoma. Tacoma gets about 20mpg as did the others. Quad cab so taking a few to lunch is not an issue. No residual smell to deal with when compared to an SUV and picking up customer parts. To me the Tacoma is nice enough to please the suits and work enough to be accepted by the shop guys. 4x4 is for me and the boys on the weekend. Tacoma also holds its value as well as any truck out there. Just my .02c worth.
