I see one plug that is higher then the rest and its in the kitchen but has not plug in it just a cover plate on it.
Not affiliated with any HVAC companies but now is the best time to get the best deals on AC. I suggest calling HVAC companies in your local area. Calling is free and you will get plenty of good information. Some companies even come to your house for free consultation. You do not have to commit to anything.
Also look to see what tax credits and rebates you are eligible for. I got a rebate just for having extra insulation blown in the attic.

They don't call them window rattlers for nothing. When we first had a house with no air we put a split system in the biggest bedroom a couple of chairs and the tv. Whole family hung out there when it got too hot. Only had to pay for one aircon which we could just about afford then. And don't buy second hand you are just buying more expense.
They are good on money and your power bill should be the same or less than what it usually is. depending on how cold you want your house to get. if you get 2 dual hose rolling Portable AC units it should be more than adequate for your house or 1 and a window unit. they are great for emergencies. however if your just looking for use for a month and then getting rid of them then just go used or get a cheap model

First few years I lived here, we set the thermostat to around 70 in the warm months. Average utility bill: $350.
I bought a window unit to put in my bedroom, and I turned the thermostat WAY up when I went to bed. I spent $200 on a new unit.
That very first month, my power bill was $150.
Since then, I've put a window unit in my office and guest bedroom. I just leave the central a/c on 80 or so. My power bills have rarely gone above $175 since the year I did the window unit experiment.
Don't buy used. Buy cheap new units from one of the big box stores.
It's absolutely insane that this old technology is easier on my budget than fancy new stuff, but it's proven to be true.

Their is a lot more to just the unit cooling/heating your house though. Can't put all the blame on the unit
I bought my house in 2010. 3 bed 1.5 bath. 1100 square feet. I had a two ton unit that went out and replaced with a used one. It went out as well. I said **** that. The past 3 yrs we have used window units. A 12,000 BTU in living room and 2 6,000 BTU units it two back bedrooms. It keeps my house cold. I don't have trees over my house either. My electric bill is cheaper running those vs the central I once used.
so for the living room like a 8,000 btu unit then the 5,000 for the bedrooms?
I would say at least a 10,000 for living. 5,000 should be fine in bedrooms.
