Scorpions in GA?

I live east of Athens in a heavily wooded area and get them in the house all the time (always in process if dying if not dead). Eliminate any source of water for them and they will die or move elsewhere. Talstar and Cy-kick are what I use to control the little bastards as well. Cy-kick works extremely well. Two species are native to GA - the southern devil which are the all brown ones found in the north areas and the striped bark scorpion found in south GA. Sting is like a wasp sting.

Looks like nothing compared to a Hawaiian centipede. My dad got stung by one of these that was almost a foot long when we lived on Oahu. Only time I've ever heard him howl like a wolf.

LOTS of them here in the mountains. I just killed two this morning while working on a car. Their sting is nothing compared to the :censored: wasp and spiders that have been attacking me lately.

PERMETHRIN kills scorpions (and any other bugs) if they try to come inside.

Friend has a pool in S. Oconee County, in the country, really attracts them for some reason.

In my last home in far west Cobb they were fairly common. I once came upon 2 of them at the top of the stairs while going to bed. And another time I had one get into the fluorescent ceiling light cover in the kitchen. It was very common to find them between the timbers of the retaining wall. They were the southern devil variety, a beige color, fairly small, only about 1-1.5" long.
