Search for survivors ends with more than 260 dead in India train crash

Rescue operations have ended for a train crash in India that left at least 261 people dead and 1,000 injured, the worst such accident in two decades.

Having worked over there in the past, 260 people are just the ones riding on the top and sides of a couple cars.

Not to make light of as terrible tragedy but just extending liberal logic…

So, it looks like Passenger Train #1 was routed to an active main-line track on which there was already a stopped, parked, freight train. That moving train slams into the parked train, and that causes a derailment that flings cars over to an adjacent main-line track where Passenger Train #2 is coming along at high speed. BANG! Pass. Train 2 hits cars from both of the previously-wrecked trains. Talk about a perfect storm.
