Seeking advice for a move to the coast...

All you guys who think you want to move to the coast need to rethink. It'll bore you to death after you realize it's the same every day. Twenty-five years looking at the monotonous surf and summer influx of tourists that drop litter like seagulls crap, I was happy to get out.

Rent something first, I lived in ft Lauderdale, for over 30 years and watched it grow into a nightmare. Middle FLA if I was going to go back. But the tourists will drive you crazy anywhere there is a beach. Also insurance is crazy because of the hurricanes , Northern Fla is too cold to be called FLA.

I've had other friends recommend Port St Joe and Mexico Beach. want to check out those spots n person. Same with the Alligator Point area. maybe Crawfordville has enough to keep my wife interested. Thanks for all the good info so far.

All three of those you've mentioned are great places. When we go to Florida, that is the area we head to. Anywhere from Panacea all the way down to St. George, Carrabelle, MB area is pretty nice depending on where you go. We have a friend with a place on Alligator Point, and there isn't much traffic or noisy neighbors down there in my experience. Good luck with finding a place, I'm from Gainesville too, and I've enjoyed being down South here. Just remember, the weather is wild and weird down this way, and the bugs can be relentless!
