Self defense myths ...that just won't die

From the #1 and #7 on the OP’s list, I’m not sure that these are myths.
I’m open to the possibility that, most of the time, the first person to hit the torso (or face/head/neck) of an adversary will win the encounter.
Id like to see a study on this.
I’m going by anecdotal evidence of all the shootings I’ve heard detailed reports on.
Obviously SOME people don’t fall, or flee, or quit the fight upon taking a decent (not grazing) hit. But plenty of folks do.

I think being able to draw fast and shoot fast with “paper plate” accuracy at 10 feet is more important than drawing and aiming with a good sight picture, shooting not-quite-as-fast, and hitting the bad guy’s third shirt button dead center over his sternum.
