My realtor told me flowers would help my house "pop" when it goes up for sale. I'm in needed of advice on what to plant.

I'll be planting them in mid March. The house is off white with dark blue shutters and red mulch. MERICA! I've got a small 3 foot circle around my mailbox, and a rectangle on both sides of the steps leading up to my house. One side of the steps has some shrubs planted from when the house was built, the other side has nothing but mulch (3x4 footage). Should I add a shrub or two to the empty side? Or plant flowers? Or potted plants?

I don't want anything hard to keep alive or expensive, just need to sell my house. What color? What flowers? Thanks!

It's still pretty cool in mid March, so anything you plant will pretty much just sit there until the ground warms up. I would suggest Gerber daisies off the top of my head. Lots of immediate color and cold hardy. Snapdragons would also work, but they will belly up when it gets hot. Primrose might work too.

If they'll grow in your area, try Knock Out roses. They require little care, they look great, and you can get several different colors.

Yup, Knock out roses, not the double pedal, go with the standard. They grow like weeds and bloom from spring till December. I throw a banana peel at the base of mine every so often and they are pretty impressive. The leaves also turn a bronze/red color when it get's cold.

Grab a few small pompous grass for accent and your done.
