The Army is handling this but first they have to do all the physical and mental evaluations. They haven't interviewed anyone or initiated the court martial yet. First you give him a fair trial then take him out and shoot him.

Put him back on duty, with limited access to anything important, and under the UCMJ authority until a case can be brought.

if i were in this fellows new post area, id be careful of him. he walked away from his post without a any weapon in the middle of hostile territory, not exactly promotion nor trustworthy material there

Very strange that he is allowed to come and go from the base. That is not what has happened in the past, not even close. The "Robert Garwood" case comes to mind that occurred while I was at Camp Lejeune decades ago. Puzzling to say the least, I know this, I have recently had to start using the VA Medical Center due to my insurance being canceled (because it did not comply with ACA, that's another story). If he was to come in the VA Medical Center while I was there it would make me sick. I hope the issue is clarified and not some political coverup to make these guys in office happy about their choices.

I remember guys getting restricted to base for very small offenses, potential desertion would generally warrant much more scrutiny. Unbelievable is an understatement.

NOTHING is too strange or inexplicable under this new ruler's reign.
