Should I go for surgery?

Congrats, had some knee work done for a torn miniscus in march. It would pop and lock. Now it just aches all the time. not sure if I would do it again.

**UPDATE**

I chose not to have surgery.

I went back for my checkup two weeks ago, and guess what the doc said......
Your cartilage looks great, it's not mated funny anywhere and looks to be damage free. GO. F'n. FIGURE

The bone is healing just fine, and I'm cleared as of yesterday to start PT.

I'm able (for the past 4weeks) to walk partially assisted either with one crutch or with a cane, and am gaining strength in the muscles RAPIDLY. What I have to get working on now is full extension in the leg, I'm at 20 degrees right now, and working on it daily.

I'm able to put 200lb of step force down before I can't put anymore, a week and a half ago I was at 150lb of step force. Only a little more to go before it's full weight bearing!

Looks like PFM to me.

Hmm.... getting a second opinion from the peanut gallery at a gun trading site... that may be OK for the question of what kind of motor oil to use, or whether you should use real or synthetic lumber for your deck, but for surgery on your bones and joints, I'd only ask people who have an M.D. after their name (or the scars from having such surgery done themselves).

Thank you for your input but it has been covered already. Please read the previous comments in the thread. Look back six replies ago.....

I got a second opinion from an internationally known and respected Orthopedic surgeon and third opinion from someone who trained with the Dr. who gave the second opinion. I cited them in a previous post.

Let's see first it will heal itself, and now well we could go in and put screws and plate in since we are going in anyway. That DR., would make me more nervous than a cat in a room full of rockers!

Suggestion, RUN OUT OF THERE, find another specialists, let him do all the talking and after have your questions very pointed and numbered and ready to be answered...
