They came and saved out kitten from the tree she had been stuck all night. Thanks guy for leaving the warm station and Christmas morning breakfast to save Christmas

day for the kitten and us.

Seems to fall in their "not my job" category.
maybe it's a liability issue.

This one don't normally, But my Dad wad the 1st chief and I was a founding member back when it started, and a mention of calling the current chief and me dragging my own ladder out, then they got theirs out, they didn't want an old man falling cause they wouldn't try. But they did and I am grateful.

probably the one. Hey, that's it! They can
put 'smokey tree' on the travel log entry.

As a career firefighter I apologize for your department. It is in there job description! It falls under the “I’m a civil servant that gets paid by the people clause”. People forget what true customer service is all about. That’s the best P.R in the world, when the public perception is “all they do is sit around waiting for a call”, or “wish I got paid to sleep”....get out in the community! Off my soap box now sorry lol

In my younger days, I worked Atlanta FD then Forsyth county FD, and I never refused to help, we even used the ladder truck a couple of times if the Engine ladders wouldn't reach.

What sta territory were you in Fo Co or radio number? I was a volunteer at 13 and did a ton of shift work at 4.
