SHTF really happening?

The end all be all in the hotdog world. The best there is, made in my hometown. I have them shipped down, or pick up a cooler full when I visit.

To get back on topic

It is safe to say:

All of us on this list love to play with guns and interact with others that share that Second Ammendment philosophy.

And many of us use the survialist theme to justify our firearm purchasing habit to our friends and family.

And some of us would rather be prepared 2 years too early than 5 minutes too late.

Gee guys thanks for causing a run on hotdogs....... back on topic:

SHTF happens every day. Yeah I know you are referring to the big one, the breakdown of society, the end of the world, etc. Know one really know. IMHO it is a 50/50 proposition. Are my preps a waste of money....hell no....we incorporate some of our intermediate and long term food supply every month and replace as used. Some of the food such as the wheat berries and beans are far better for you than the processed foods that people eat on a daily basis. My weapons, I use in on a regular basis for work and recreation.

Well, remember what 19KILO said..."FEMA was preparing for possible problems if gas went sky high!" well boy's it's happening! I saw on the news today that they predict gas to be $4 per gallon by summer! Will it even get higher than that? My big question is "why isn't our government tapping into the reserve and giving us a little relief?" If this continues, it will drive the cost of living through the roof! We're already in big trouble...this could put the icing on the cake!

Because the reserve is there for an ACTUAL emergency. Wall Street is using the ME crisis as a scape goat to juggle oil prices higher and make a killing off of it. This will continue until the government intervenes and starts investigating. Or until the gov thinks they've made enough. See guys, everyone like capitalism, until it f's them in the A lol.

BTW: I <3 capitalism and free market, it's just abused from time to time.

For a SHTF scenario, you need more than guns and ammo. Rules of 3's apply here, Water, Food, Ammo/Equipment. Balance them all.

You'd hate to have 100,000 rounds of ammo only to die of hunger with 99,500 rounds left hehe.

SHTF is Very possible. As to what degree, that is all dependent on where the $%#$%#$%#$%# is coming from. Situations like in Greece to me are definitely SHTF situations, and you can bet your ass that our economy is on that track. Economic break down is the most likely situation to happen here in the US. What follows can only be chaotic. An invasion or mass attack will not likely happen until our system of commerce is broken.

Look back in the history if the United States at times and places that you would have wanted to be prepared for SHTF. The Civil War was not THAT long ago. The Great Depression was wide spread, but what if it was an isolated occurrence here in the South East, like Katrina? Or a battle with Mexico could spark all kinds of rogue activity amongst the 20 million illegals living here.

Your neighbors or fellow Americans may be your first dangerous encounter when SHTF goes down.

SHTF would MOST LIKELY be the crazy $%#$%#$%#$%#s who think 2012 is the end of the world. That's what I'm worried about, those David Ike SOB's that think reptiles are coming to steal our jobs in 2012
