SKS GAS TUBE ISSUES

Hey dudes,

Dumb ass new guy here and I don't know how forums work so forgive me please.

I recently bought a SKS from Cabelas and it came with the Tapco switcheroo.

It is new old stock and I've been trying to strip it down to get the cosmoline out but the Gas Tube Piston seems to stuck.
Is this a known issue? If so a friendly fix would be much appreciated.

I'm about to try to get the pins out but don't even know if I can reuse or replace them.

What's a switcheroo? What kind of SKS? Yugo? You got pics of the pins you're trying to get out? Also, where are you located?
