That second pic... what is that one? The scope seems mounted awfully high. Is it original?
The 2nd one is a Keng's PU Sniper. Not a real sniper, that's just what it was called. It uses a Mosin scope base and mount. But the rifles didn't come with the mount originally as far as I know. I think they had to be bought separate. The correct SKS mount would be a good bit lower, but still tall. I wound up buying an NOS AK mount from Polytech...my intent was to have my buddy cut and section the mount to bring the scope down but I sold the rifle before I ever got around to it...
Weebly has a good list and info on different SKS variants, including the Keng's.
That mount is really pretty cool. 2 vertical set screws for rough elevation adjustments, and the large head screw flush with the base can be turned in or out for rough windage...
The reason I used the AK mount is because the AK and SKS mount use 1" rings. A Mosin mount uses 26.5mm rings (I think that's the right size but don't quote me) so you either have to use a Mosin style scope or you can use some spacers to make the rings 1". I took a chance on the AK mount, hoping it wasn't going to be THAT tall lol...

Fwiw i used a molot mount and can still use stripper clips. I'll have to post the chestrig i made when i get the buckles sewn on
