I have been carrying a 642 Hammerless for a few years. Mostly a pocket carry in a Mikes holster. When I purchased the pistol about 4 years ago the finish was flawless. I have fired the pistol maybe 2 dozed times over that period. Just with the banging around, maybe coming in contact with change or car keys, or what ever the darn finish has wear at the high points.
The 38sp is an Airweight (alloy alum J frame) and the black (stainless steel) cylinder. This has to be one of the crappiest finished Smith ever put on a Revolver. I don't plan on getting rid of it, but touching it up would be nice. I am also not apposed to "lightening" cutting the entire pistol so the darn little wear marks don't bother me as much...
Other than ceracote, krylon, and alumafinish do you SMITH guys have any other options.
Thanks in advance.
