I’m asking for a friend. They got it after a family member past away. IT HAS NEVER BEEN SHOT. They are wanting to know the value of it to a collector. It is a 29-3.
Looks like a model 29 .... if you open the cylinder look on the inside of the frame where the cylinder yoke meets the frame there will be a serial number and model number . It will be Model 29- ? ..... there is a dash number behind the 29 .....that is what you want.
Take the clamp on scope mount off the pistol and see what it looks like underneath. It looks like the sight has been removed. Buyer will want to know if the sight is available.
If blue is good, no rust, clean and bright bore, tight lock up, etc., around
$900-1000 just estimating, my opinion.
The important thing will be if the rear sight is available. It may still be in place under the scope, cant tell by picture.
Also need to check for scratches/scrapes under scope mount....see if blue is still intact under the mount.
Also i would remove the stocks, check for rust under grips...also see if grips are numbered to the gun. There may be a number under the grip panels that matches part or whole serial number (usually last 4 numbers)
