Looks like a Model 66-2 or -3...It SHOULD HAVE a Round-butt Frame, but those are aftermarket Pachmayr Presentation Square-butt Grips--Which WILL fit & work fine on a Round-butt Gun--Assuming it's a Round-butt Gun like all 2 & 1/2" Model 66's were when they left the Factory, in the Condition it appears to be in, $550 to $700 is about right around here, depending on exact Condition & whether or not your friend has the Box, Paperwork & Original Grips...HTH....mikey357

$500 would be a pretty good "Buy", and it's probably a bit more than your friend paid for it, so...Just depends on how good a friend he is, I guess...
