What finish is that? The 586 was blued or nickeled, and the 686 was stainless steel. That guns looks stainless, or maybe hard chromed. Never seen a factory hard-chromed 586.

There are some very rare bead blasted 586’s. I am wondering.

It’s not a shiny nickel I know that.

Any markings on the rear face of the cylinder? Like the “V” on the back of this 66-1?

IF there is no V or N on the cylinder, pretty sure it was originally blued. there is no factory refinish mark that I see on the grip frame. so probably an aftermarket refinish. and it looks like a good one. I would pull the rear sight and see if it is a -4. It does have an early-ish SN, might be older than -4.

I’ve seen a few in person, and several more in pics. They were an attractive matte black that I’ve always liked.
