Smith & Wesson w/ nickel finish? Is it original?

JWC, did not know me from Adams house cat. But over the years he has taught me a great deal about S&W revolvers. The main thing I have learned from this man is" if he knows the answer to your question he is always happy to help. But if he doesn't know, JWC will not BS you, and will tell you he doesn't have a answer. Great Post JWC, and thanks for your time. I am sure/positive this will help someone. Ray

As usual JWC has the S&W info. Nice touch about the nickel 28's. I'v seen a few for sale over the years, but never believe any nickel M28 is real without a letter.

One other point I will make. If you see a nickel M&P ("pre 10") that has a V serial number. It will has been refinished. Never say never, but you will never see a factory nickel "victory", but you will see a boat-load of refinished ones.

Great point jhvaughan. In fact I saw "V" pre 10 for sale just the other day. And sure enough, the ad said, "rare original nickel". It got taken down very quickly.

And in front of the ODT and the world I would like to say how much I appreciate both your knowledge and your appreciation for a very fine firearm manufacturer!

Same here Hayata, JWC has given me a lot of useful information and I thank him.
