I have the same snake living in a hole next to my driveway. I named him Jake and look for him every time I got truck. He likes laying out in the sun. I hope he pulls security and kills the bad snakes!

Yes I’m thinking rat snake, I asked him what he was and he said he chose not to identify with any species or genus.

Non-venomous, but will bite the piss out of you if you handle them. kings are pretty docile.
