So I have had some snake shot rounds on stand by for when needed. Tonight I had to use one. However the pistol I had near by was my 92fs, one of my favorites.
My question is, do snake shots damage the rifling in the barrel?

FYI snake shots are VERY effective. :)

I used some wad cutters today, worked good. Good question though about the rifling. Heres my prize.

Try one of those snake shots through a 44 mag. It tends to turn a snake into potted meat.

Good to hear there not damaging to the barrel. I only have 9mm rounds, at the moment :). My grandma had the cops called on her once because she was in her front yard unloading on a water moccasin with my grandfathers 6in Python 357. She had just moved into a neighborhood in New Port Richy Fl. They told her "mam your not in the country anymore, next time call animal control". She said " to hell with that, it was in my rose bushes". I love my grandma.

I don't know what kind of snake it was but is somehow made its way up to my elevated porch where my 15 month old daughter was playing. I pushed it off the porch with a broom and went down stairs and shredded it with a single shot.
By the shape of its head I don't think it was poisoness but I'm not taking any chances with my daughter. Also I was attacked by a 7ft Cotten mouth when I was 7 years old. I ran over it with my bike cutting between houses by lake tarpon in Fl. My bike stopped its lunge at me but I got a close look at why there named Cotten mouth and I have been terrified of all snakes ever since.

What am I missing here? Barrels = steel, snakeshot bb's = lead. Steel is harder than lead. As long as you clean the bore you should be good to go. Or am I really missing something?
