Lower is warm in the winter but upper TX can be quite cold with snow.
Indeed. It's a fair bet you can find the exact weather you want someplace in the state almost any day of the year.

Definite tactical miscue.
My ride today got off to a great start... Did my pre-flight check, cleaned chain, tire pressures, etc... I roll it off the lift, and the kickstand was down, it caught and kicked the bike towards the side that I wasn't standing on, and the bike falls off the lift and smashes onto the right side. Smashed the tail plastics, the brake light assembly, bends the rear brake lever, broke a tab off the sub-frame that secures the brake light assembly, and roughed up one of the lower fairing covers...
