Signed up in 2018 two months past my birthday. One trip to SS office and all was good. Started receiving checks on time and even got paid for the two months I went past bday.. hopefully stays that way.

The wife called SSA at 9:37 this morning to try to make an appointment, it’s been over 30 minutes so far….
I'd rather be beat with a bullwhip.......
Maybe try calling an office in an area with the smallest population, maybe it's not so busy. Since they are federal it doesn't matter what state or town, it is all the same. (Just an idea I have no clue if it is better or worse)
I signed up online. Got a email about two weeks later it was being handled by Alberqurque New Mexico. (I am in NeGa). But in about three weeks I got a benefit letter and all has been good. I am surprised it went so easy. About to start the medicare part now. Hope it goes as easy.
