Technically you can, it is just tied to working certain jobs (normally for cities that opted out of it)

So far 41 SS deposits have been wired into my account. Never figured on seeing the first SS check.....I have no complaints.

When I got a little older and could, I put money in every retirement fund I could. I think everyone should have to put into S.S. granted it's not the best investment, but most people don't have the discipline to save their money

The issue with my wife is that she continues to work, they wanted her to provide her 2024 earnings amount. Info that they already have. I guess she pissed off that caller by requiring proof she was from the SSA…. At any rate, this is unnecessary drama…
