the 5.56 round is capable of 400 to 600yrds. but i have other guns for that range. i like the pistol because it is nice and compact,packs plenty of punch,and does not snag in tight spaces. i always considered the ar platform as a 100yrd gun,a 7.5 to 10.5 barrel gives plenty accuracy at that range.

Accuracy, yes. Stopping power, no. 5.56 loses so much velocity out of 7.5" and 10.5" barrels that M193 does not fragment at 100 yards. In fact it does not fragment past 25 yards, IIRC.
It is a CQB weapon.

The KelTec PLR-16 is awesome! Accurate out to 100 plus yards, compact AF.

The muzzle blast alone is damaging their psyche....... It has a linear comp on it now, all that noise directed toward the threat.
