Somebody may be willing to bet their freedom on something like this but it certainly wouldn't be me.

Can you say locked up for the weekend even if you're right?

Can you say locked up for a lot longer cause you may be wrong due to local ordinance?

Just aint worth the risk.

I didn't read the entire thread but just the first page. The way I heard it from a guy manufacturing these types of shotties from the 2012 shot show was that if the firearm was manufactured as a pistol grip shotgun (i.e. mossberg 500 with pistol grips and no stock) they didn't fall under the NFA rules and could be cut down. If they went below 18" they were considered an AOW and the appropriate $5 stamp was required. I could be wrong but that is the way I heard it.

Edit: apparently everyone else above me said basically the same thing. It is indeed bs that it requires no tax stamp. It would be an AOW.
