Trying that now. It may work. Sure will make it easier.

It works great without the pins. I made a new cleaning formula too. It's outta this world good

This brass was dark. It wasn't cleaned with pins or media. And didn't use lemishine or citric acid. It was tumbled in thumblers tumbler for one hour in my home brew.
