Why do people send you PMs saying: "Sorry to lowball you, but will you take....."? You're not sorry, that's why you're sending it. Are you so spineless you can't make a real offer, or just have the guts to ask without the apology?

I recently had a rifle for sale, and recieved quite a few of these. I don't mind a lowball offer, just be a man when you make your offer. Does apologizing when offering make you feel better about it? I probably would have let it go for one of those lowball offers, but couldn't sell it to someone that couldn't man up and ask without the apology.

Am I too disgruntled? Or does this **** you off too?

I'm probably in the minority here, but I never knock a guy for trying. I'd rather get lowballs than people just never responding to my sale threads at all. It doesn't bother me at all, but I know it definitely pisses some people off. I think for the most part the apology is their way of acknowledging that they do in fact realize you likely won't take it, but they are giving it a shot. Again, just one man's opinion.

Take a toke and relax. It's just words typed on a computer. Who cares how something is worded? It's an offer, take or leave it. Be the better person and kindly respond with a "no thank you" or a counter offer.

The only thing that gets on my nerves is the number of people that ask a question or mention that they want to do this or that and never respond again. Tire kickers I guess. I don't mind answering anything you want answered but when you just jump ship in the middle of the conversation and leave me wondering whether or not you are interested or if I should entertain other offers..that drives me nuts. Communication skills these days are a lost art.
