Let's remember that there are speed laws for one reason; so that insurance companies can get richer. Same with seat belt laws. Their numbers people posit that lower speeds means less damage (to vehicle and body) in the event of an accident. More money they get to pocket.

Not only that but they are doing so in an oversized sedan that has been loaded down with radios and sirens and whatnot. So you think its safe for you to be speeding in your "interceptor" which is nothing more than a heavier version of a crown vic that handled like a semi truck in the first place? Yeah, I know....they are professionally trained to drive aggressively and those cars are supposedly modified to take it. Bull****. I'm not saying that the police shouldn't speed to handle their business but you can't go 90mph down 285 and then pull me over for going 70mph so you can lecture me on "safety".
Oh and on a related topic, can anyone explain to me why the speed limit on a 6 lane interstate like 285 is only 55mph? Are you sure thats for safety and not for revenue collection?
you know if the cop doesn't have their emergency lights on, you can follow them and go just as fast as they are. cant get pulled over for speeding no matter how fast you are going following them, its entrapment if they do. ive followed in dekalb cop cars going to work in the mornings on 316-85s going anywhere from 80-100mph, and passed gwinnett county and they did nothing of course.
and also, if you feel froggy, get the tag/car number and you can call 911 to report them for speeding. they will get in trouble for it.

Duluth PD along PIB in any part of their jurisdiction. Unreal how long this has gone on.
The South end of 285 is 65 mph......

south of ga hwy 20 on PIB to lanier middle school.
ive seen as many as 6 in that short stretch of road,thats not designed for public safety only revenue collection.
1 or 2 at the school zone i can understand as the traffic there can get busy at times.
