Stick shift…

My 95 F150 is a 5 speed manual transmission - it can be fun to drive when I do take it out but not in traffic -

I remember when Ford trucks went from the
mechanical clutch linkage to the hydraulic
master and slave cylinder. Sold a few bushings
for the mechanical linkage which got a bit sloppy
after 20 yrs or few hundred K miles. Master & slave
cylinders were plastic and Ford didn't offer rebuild kits.
Only option was replace the cylinders. Ford made a
lot more with the hydraulics system. Supposedly
with more women driving the trucks the hydraulics
made clutch pedal easier to use. Made a lot of the
fellas mad soon as they had to buy new cylinders
at 40-60K miles instead of a few bushings after 150K

Years ago neighbor wanted a M/T Focus, took awhile
to find one then drove him up above Atlanta to get it.
A lot of econo cars these days don't offer M/T and if they
do only on base model. Looks like CVTs taking over.

2018 Mustang GT. 6-speed and V8 (traded in a HEMI Challenger with a 6-speed). Neither were easy to find. I won't drive an auto until I HAVE to. My days are numbered...
