Stop leaving guns in your cars..

Funny, if not completely unrelated story. Years ago I drove a Wrangler as a daily driver. I had a carry pistol on me and an AR15 under the flip up back seat. While I was at the movie with the girlfriend who would become my wife all these years later, some punk cut the top, unlocked the door and stole my sub, speaker bar, GPS, and the dang change in the cup holder. But the rifle was still there...because I modifed the bracket release and pad locked it.

Secure your stuff.

Seriously Folks!!!

A Crinimal is going to be a criminal! If i leave a stick, money or a Wepon of ANY kind in my vechile it is Secure. Its behind a Lock and Key! Safe's are lock and Key! My house is lock and key!
The probem is the Criminals do NOT care, they want the property and locks are just a obstacle to get around. Nothing you own is secure enough from a criminal! Stores, Banks and armored cars get robbed all the time!

I want my defense available to me at any given moment and not locked up behind layers
Of locks!! I use common sense and keep them out of obivious sight!!

Why didn’t you lock up everything else ???

The whole reason we have a "truck gun" is so we have immediate access to defend ourselves/loved ones should the need arise. If it's under lock and key within the vehicle, you've just taken those few seconds away and handed them to your aggressor.

Honest question here.
Is the suggestion to lock them up every time you leave your vehicle and unlock them every time you enter your vehicle?

Let's put this into perspective. A vehicle is by definition, an extension of your home. No one else has the right to you or your property without consent. I don't think most people leave their firearms out in plain view in house or auto or if they do it's a very small percentage.

The problem is not how secure your firearm is when you're not in attendance, it's the advertising you advertently place on your property to show that you may have a weapon.

I'll reiterate, keep it concealed and keep your mouth shut. Don't advertise in any way shape or form that you have or may have a firearm on your person or in this case, in your vehicle.

If they would start putting the criminals in a wood chipper stealing would go down big-time.
PERXACTLY! When you start grinding‘em up for hog feed their behavior instantly changes or their population is greatly reduced. Some of that Sharia law makes a lot of sense when you’re dealing with feral habitual offenders.

The point is if you have a gun in your vehicle unattended, and criminals gonna be criminals and take it, then you’re contributing to the crime. I’m not saying they’re right for doing it, but if you give them the chance, they’re going to exploit it. If someone left $1,000 in $10 bills on their dashboard, you’d probably call them irresponsible and think karma will probably teach them a lesson. What’s the difference?
I actually did that, years ago. Stopped by the bank, drew out $1000, left it on the front seat in the envelope while I went into a restaurant for lunch.
Old beater Plymouth, no a/c, so I’d left all the windows down. Parked in a high traffic area.
Forgot all about it ‘til I came back to the car, then like to have crapped myself. Money was still there, whew! Guess the car looked so bad nobody gave it a second look.
