Strange cartridge....What's up with it?

Im pretty sure it was shot in a semiauto with a fluted chamber , the c/93 does that to 223 ammo

My SVT-40 has a fluted chamber and does that to the cases...

I've had a number of milsurp 7.65x51 cases with a similar pattern of soot down the sides, was told at the time they were likely fired in a machine gun, but this seems like a better explanation. I haven't noticed any cases that were actually imprinted like this, cool!
