this could be considered rant so be forewarned

i got a newer mercury grand marquis recently and it is fully loaded with power seats, heated mirrors, leather, and a power sunroof. i never use a sun roof but the car had it so i can live with it.

now I have to figure out how to know when it is closed fully, the power switch can take it all the way in with one push back of the switch, tilt it forward but it does not have a way for the button to automatically close it. you would think the manufacturer would have had a button or a position to put slide the button in to close the sunroof instead of leaving it up the the operator to figure out if its closed. in addition the radiator has a weird looking plug that needs removed to drain it of anti-freeze making me not knowing how to drain it and refill it. and i hate paying others to drain fluids from my car.

my rodeo is the same way. i have to hold the button to close it half way, then hold it again to fully close it. i'm not always certain when it's completely closed so i tilt it up a bit then i hit the button back to let it slam back down. works for me

What year is it? Depending on that it may be able to be rewired with a 06 Tibiron KDM sunroof relay modual that will not only allow for a one push automatic closure but also automatic closure when the ignition is turned off.

When I bought the Challenger, I had the same issue with the sun roof. It looks kinda open from the inside. Took me awhile to get used to it.

They make the sunroof close with a two push engagement as a safety feature so that no one closes it on themselves, same reason rear/child windows don't have a one touch up. Newer vehicles have pressure sensitive windows, like a garage door. As far as the radiator drain, it should be a T-style petcock or a hex that you could put a deep socket on. The messier way is to take off the lower radiator hose. Messier yes, but sometimes the o-ring on the petcock gets torn and you dont find out until you refill with coolant.

a 2006, i think it is a "factory installed" or at least ford had it installed when it was new

i will try that tomorrow with the sunroof. and the radiator i will look more into in the future as i do not expect a frost soon and the engine is cooling properly now
