Teach them gun safety at an early age and you won't have a problem. I grew up in a house with the long guns hanging over the couch in the living room and a handgun on dad's night stand. That was until I turned 8 and got to hang a rifle over my bed, then a shotgun around 10, another around 12 and my pistol when I turned 14.

I've raised 9 kids and never had a safe till they were grown. Taught them early, never had a problem.

You could probably rig up a cable lock like gun stores have. Wouldn't be fast but would help secure them
