If you're going for "intended purpose" that would put my sig 226r dak in 357 sig as being "tactical" because it was designed specifically for law enforcement but available to civilians. By the same token, an sks and mosin nagant are more tactical than an ar 15. Reason bring.... mosin nagants and sks's still have their combat components, were used in conflict and never neutered. However, AK 47's have been neutered and modified for "sport shooting" purposes and no longer retain the combat components. Same with ar 15's, sold and marketed as a "sport shooting" rifle, not a combat platform as they lack the bcg and fcg found in their Leo/military counterparts. By either explanation saying a gun is tactical is as ignorant as saying guns kill people. It is nothing but a tool. Tactical denotes a skill And mind set, training, etc. Having a garage so t make you a mechanic, having wire cutters wont make you an electrician, and a tricked out rifle won't make you a soldier.tactical as applied in odt ads is nothing more than a marketing ploy to recoup losses spent on aftermarket accessories or by manufacterers to sell better. Look at guns marked zombie, zombie ammo, zombie red dots... its a sales gimmick that people that spend hours watching war movies and the walking dead fall for.

if it's black, can be used quietly, and you can move with it in a sneeky mannor, then its tactical. Or if it costs more than the one next to it, but is exactly the same, then it may also be tactical.

^^^^^this right here says it all^^^^^

Tactical is a key word for add more $$$ to the asking price. NOT to be confused with "zombie" killing gear, which is most awesome.

Don't forget the tactical wasp spray...

Yes it would be tactical because you would use tactics in killing ducks, now whether or not you can tactically kill ducks depends on your experience level. Some would just run out there yelling and shooting=not tactical=acting untactically while carrying a tactical/tactically purposed weapon

but, ducks dont shoot back

tactical implies combat

good points here, i still think its the use and not the components that make it tactical or not, so your argument about the mosin nagant and sks not being "neutered" seems to be pretty valid, good insight
