At the end, it sounded like gunshots--maybe a hunter came to the rescue? How long would a bear chase somebody on a bike if the cyclist could keep pedaling? Would it eventually give up?

That made me pucker up.......I don't know how he got away, a bear can run 35mph. Their ain't no way he was able to go that fast on that road or on that bike

Yea, I don't see how he would've got away. You can't accelerate fast enough on a bicycle. And that bike ain't built for that type of speed. The road isn't either. Likely he would've lost control on that road at the speed he would've needed to travel
